On Sunday we celebrate a holiday that honors the very special women who made our lives possible… our mothers! We remember the story of Mary, a humble woman who had faith in God and accepted God’s wish for her to have baby Jesus. Like Mary, our own mothers take on the uncertainty and stresses of pregnancy and child-rearing with strength and courage. They are the champions of running the house, encouraging us to finish our vegetables, and prompting us to say “please” and “thank you.” Even more than that, they are our cheerleaders, our nurses, our teachers, and especially a soft place to fall when we feel down and out. In addition to offering Mom flowers and chocolates this Mother’s Day, let us also offer a prayer for her continued health, happiness…and sanity! Have a blessed Mother’s Day, friends!
