Even the excitement of a new school year can be overshadowed by the uncertainty of academic challenges, meeting friends, and settling into a new routine.  In our home, we ease the transition with this little prayer. We hope you'll find that it bolsters the spirits of your little scholars-in-progress:

Father, we thank you for the opportunity to begin this new school year, and we ask that you bless the students, faculty, and the student families that make our schools great places. We pray that You will guide us in all ways, so that we will seek Your will in everything that we do. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.  Have a blessed start to the school year, friends!

While setting up craft time at our basement table, I flipped through a book of construction paper. There were pages in red, orange, yellow, green, pink, black, and white. Red was the preferred color today--- the kids said it reminded them of the yummy cherry snowcones at our church's festival this summer.   All of the different colors reminded me that it is time to announce the winner of the Wee Believers™ coloring contest! Talk about a close race--- we were dazzled by this summer's entries! In fact, with a good-looking frame, each of these would make spectacular wall art for a formal living room! After serious deliberation, we are happy to announce the following winners (with winning artwork featured above):

Emmanuel - Age 4

Ellie - Age 7

Gabe - Age 10

And the overall winner is....(drumroll, please!)

Owen - Age 6

Congrats, wee artists! We will be in touch with you to award your well-earned Lil Prayer Buddy™. Have a blessed week, friends!
